BOOKING FAQS: Organizing, coaching or both. How do I know what to book?
Each person’s strengths and challenges are unique, as are their goals. Starting with a free 30-minute phone consultation, we will discuss your current situation, including your biggest challenges and what you ultimately want to achieve. Depending on your needs, we may discuss an integrated organizing-coaching package or stand-alone coaching. One-time organizing sessions independent of coaching are not offered.
It is important to note that real and significant change usually happens over a period of time. The commitment to coaching is made on a monthly basis as part of your organizing package. An initial 3-month commitment (3 sessions/month for 3 consecutive months) is required for stand-alone coaching clients.
When is it appropriate to engage in independent coaching?
Clients come to stand-alone coaching for a myriad of reasons. You may be uncertain about your goals, frustrated by persistent challenges, or want to better understand your unique brain-wiring. Coaching provides you with the time and space to discover the tools, strategies and supports necessary for your personal success.
How much will it cost?
I typically work with clients over several months or longer. Multi-hour packages offer flexible payment and scheduling options. Click here for package pricing details.
What is your service area?
I work with clients on-site in Seattle and on the Eastside and virtually with clients outside the Seattle area.
COACHING FAQS: How should I prepare for our coaching sessions?
⇒ Consider your goals for coaching.
⇒ Create a folder for coaching materials (session notes, observations between sessions, resources).
⇒ Identify a topic you’d like to focus on before each call.
ORGANIZING FAQS: Will you make me throw everything out?
Absolutely not! You decide what stays and what goes. People’s possessions are very personal and only you know if they are serving you. As we sort, you may decide to donate an item to a loved one or to a community organization. It may be time to throw it away, move it to a new space, or organize it in a better way. The ultimate choice of what to keep is yours.
Should I purchase organizing supplies before our first session?
No. Although you may be excited to purchase everything you think you need it is best to wait until we have started the organizing process to determine what those items are. Often, we can repurpose existing pieces in your home. If we determine your project requires specific supplies, you will be provided with links to suggested products to purchase.
How should I prepare for our first session?
Please don’t do anything before our first session. In particular, it is important not to organize or tidy up before we have a chance to assess your space. This gives us a good idea of what’s working, what’s not and how best to structure our sessions to ensure success.
How do you handle recycling & donations?
As an environmentally conscious organizer, I am committed to promoting sustainable solutions for unwanted items. Clients are encouraged to donate &/or recycle as much as possible.
Onsite work includes complimentary donation drop off of one carload per session and one banker’s box of paperwork for secure off-site shredding. Items suitable for curbside recycling and trash is deposited for collection with your usual garbage service.
